[Exclusive Interview] Todd Berry

Name: Todd Berry

Age: 31

Location (Country): USA
What age did you start dancing/singing/etc?
At the age of 9.

Do you dance/sing/etc for fun and/or as wanting a career out of it? Why?
I knew early in life that the only thing I wanted to do was to entertain.  I really enjoyed watching people enjoy themselves by watching me sing.  Everybody told me I could sing and that I was really good.  I quit school at the age of 15 so I could concentrate on my career and I guess it was then that I decided to make it a career.  For the next 15 years I have worked full-time do just that.  I was told that I sing like Elvis so I early in my career I developed a Elvis Tribute Show and slowly developed my songlist to include lots of other acts as well.  I now know over 200 songs  of the top 40 acts from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, country, country rock, gospel and blues.  My career took a big jump last year when Spotlight Records signed me to a recording contract and now I am being offered even bigger opportunities thanks to Spotlight Records

Who influences/inspire you about music?
My mom early in my career was my biggest fan and inspired me to follow my dreams.  Elvis and Garth Brooks were both big influences, but it is rock music that has influenced my career the most.  I love to Rock regardless of the music.
Sample of your work?

Anything else you will like to add: I love to produce music, write music, and perform music, but I also love to help others in the music business as well.  I teach vocal music as well.  I just finished producing my 1st Cd by another artist last month.  Its hip hop music by a refugee from Liberia who fled Africa to the US.  His name is Trokon and the CD is titled The Refugee to be released soon.

1.) Your name, what you are called, and/or alias?

Ronnie Icon, although Ronnie Scholtes is my real name.

I'm from The Netherlands, and I'm mostly active on Youtube. It's my way of being international. :)

3.) What age did you start?

I started writing songs when I was about 10 years old, but I didn't go to music college until my 22nd. I started my Youtube channel early 2015.

4.) What's your inspiration?

Anything K-pop, really. Before I found out about K-pop, I'd been drawn to American pop artists like Jesse McCartney, but also artists like Bjork. Then I came across K-pop and my entire field of reference changed. I first got into EXO, but gradually I started learning all about other artists as well.

5.) What's your style?

K-pop inspired songs, remixes and covers. I like to think that, as a European based, K-pop inspired artist, I blend a little of both worlds. An EDM inspired sound mixed with the pop music I now listen…
